What Is It About?

47 Mind Hacks for Writers helps writers with every aspect of their mindset that is holding them back – from writing, managing their inner critic, coping with criticism & creating a business from their writing.

If you struggle with your inner critic or handling other people’s criticism, this book is for you. If you can’t quite find the time to write, this book is for you. If you’re afraid to put yourself out there, stand out from the crowd, and put your ideas out into the world – this book is for you.

Simply reading the mind hacks in the book will finish off your problems with imposter syndrome, procrastination, self-doubt, writer’s block and many other issues that writer’s face.

Who Is It For?

47 Mind Hacks for Writers is for writers who are struggling with mindset issues like writer’s block, self-doubt, procrastination, and self-sabotage.

If there is anything stopping you writing, publishing, getting feedback and generally making a living from your writing, then this book is for you.

If you feel like you’re being held back or silenced by the voice inside your head, then this book was written just for you.

Why Should You Care?

If you’re a writer, then you want to be able to write freely, without your inner critic getting in the way and making you doubt yourself. You also want to be able to make a living from your writing without the fear of criticism or failure holding you back.

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Who am I to write…?”, “No one is going to want to read this, it’s crap” or “I’m not good enough to…” Then it’s time to silence your inner critic and get out there and do what you were born to do. Write.

47 Mind Hacks for Writers, can help you do it, by giving you the mind hacks you need to get round the limiting beliefs you have going around in your head.

Our minds act the same way as a computer. You enter the input (your goals and desires), it runs a series of programs (your beliefs) and gives you back the output (your results).

The only way to get different results from what you’re currently getting is to either give your mind a different goal, or to change the programming.

This book, changes your programming, so you can get the results you actually want, instead of making your goals smaller.

What Others Are Saying…

“A great resource for writers.”

What a great book! If you’ve ever suffered from ‘I can’t write today, what can I do?’ then this is the book for you. What I like about this book is that you can zip through and find the one ‘hack’ that will help you at that moment. A great resource for writers.

“You won’t be disappointed.”

Excellent book, especially for someone who is struggling to get back into writing for myself. Also handy in that it doesn’t need to be read cover to cover to be effective. Start at a point that looks best for you and fill in the blanks as you go later. Just as with their other works you won’t be disappointed.

“A coach in a box.”

I Love this book. I like to read from the beginning and let me tell you, the first 16 Mind Hacks for Writers are wonderful. I’m using these ideas to create Video guitar lessons and have written my Focus statement from Mind Hack#6. I envision myself as I Video record my lessons.

The greatest breakthrough for me is my “Steps to Make a Video Series” which I wrote today after reading about how to establish daily goals for your writing and I also started to write a script for the first video of my next series. I also now have a Vision for working on my next Video lesson series as a work of pleasure instead of frustration. I feel greatly encouraged by Karen’s advice in this book. I wrote my Pickup Plan also from Mind Hack#16. Great stuff!

If you need a coach in a box and need to know how to encourage yourself with thoughts like “Yes, I have good ideas and I can create great things for others to enjoy” then this is your book!

“Full of ‘Aha!’ moments!”

This isn’t the first book of Karen and Steve Dimmick that I’ve read. They as authors have the ability to talk directly to the reader as if we we’re having a cup of coffee together. So I knew the book would be awesome before reading it, and I was right. 47 Mind Hacks for Writers is full of “Aha!” moments.

It’s really easy to see myself in every “hack” and how I was doing something and how easy it is (mostly) to fix it and keep writing. For me it was like having an old friend sit me down and tell me how I am capable of doing things that I thought I couldn’t do. It feels personal, like it was written especially for me.

I want to add: The quotes at the beginning of each chapter are amazing, and quite inspiring. This book belongs in my personal bookshelf, so I can always pick it up and re-read it anytime I need.

“More than just writer’s block!”

This book is applicable to more than just writer’s block! Great strategies for reaching your goals and getting things done by developing important skills like positive mindset and time management!! I loved that I could jump around and didn’t necessarily have to read each mind hack in order and I could pick and choose which exercises to do depending on what I was struggling with. A valuable resource which I plan to refer to over and over

“…as if they were talking to you personally”

Wow! A truly great book for those of us who suffer from not only writer’s block, but also from procrastination and distraction. This book will not only be a great future reference in my writing endeavors, but for my day to day life as well. Karen and Steve have set up this wonderful book in such a way that you can easily bounce around from one “mind hack” to the next. Wonderfully written, as if they were talking to you personally.
